Targeting Centre, CM Mamata Banerjee says agencies failed to solve RG Kar incident   Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee on Thursday lashed out at the Centre over rampant misuse of central agencies against the Trinamool leaders and criticised it for the "failure of solving big incidents like the RG Kar incident." Alleging that phones of Trinamool leaders were getting tapped, she said that her party leaders are being put behind bars and charge sheets filed against them ahead of assembly elections in West Bengal. "I will see who has greater power - agency or people in Bengal," Banerjee said. "As the election approaches, the central agencies will be more proactive. Union Budget 2025: Tax exemptions to boost BJP ahead of Delhi elections. The " aam aadmi budget " presented by  Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman  just days ahead of the  Delhi assembly elections  could provide a boost to BJP to take on the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), said analysts. They said the proposed tax exemption up to the annual income of ₹12 lakh would directly impact 3.5 million  salaried voters  of Delhi. At the national level, 28.2 million individuals filed returns with income up to ₹10 lakh for 2023-24, as per official data. Additionally, 5.05 million individuals filed returns with an average annual salary of ₹12.05 lakh. The proposed tax benefits are therefore likely to impact more than 33 million salaried voters directly across the country.
